From my perspective, clowns are not just taking advantage of strange clothes and ugly make up to make people happy but also to hide their scared heart,that is to say, they are not truly happy, they laugh just because of their job. For me, it is not easy to make strangers laugh, and it is pretty difficult that you have to keep laughing when they are standing on the stage alone especially when there are hundred of people staring at you.

In addition, when the performance is end, the stage becomes dark, everyone leaves with their laughters. Suddenly, the clown becomes lonely, silent, afraid and speechless.

My work is inspired by this aspect of a clown, so it is dark, silent, but not hopeless, because clowns expect for the next show, and at that time, when they see people are laughing, they will be truly happy again.
